When Yo Yo Collins was paralyzed from the collarbone down in a diving accident, he faced a tremendous challenge. A recent graduate from college with a physical education degree, his dreams were crushed. He had to make difficult choices. Yo Yo responded to the challenge, and the result has been an encouragement to others for over twenty-five years. Yo Yo and Sandi's story is told in their book, "Good As Grape Juice." Thousands have thrilled to the message of encouragement, faith, and hope. Although confined to a wheel chair, Yo Yo's message has not been limited. Using his outstanding singing ability Yo Yo has inspired others, from corporations to the Oklahoma State Senate, from public schools to the Pentagon, from churches to businesses. He and Sandi have presented their message all across the United States. It's a message of faith, love, hope, and victory. Whether on one of many television appearances, in the feature about Yo Yo in Guidepost magazine, or during their personal appearances, Yo Yo and Sandi provide an example of "Growing Better--Not Bitter--Through Adversity." Sandi also is an encouragment to those facing the challenge of being a caregiver to the handicapped. She has spoken to nurses and others who give their lives serving others. Sandi and Yo Yo are an example of the value of positive action as well as positive attitude.
